He also had a good showing in the AfroBasket Tournament in Libya and had a few offers to decide between. He and I felt this was the best situation to start his career,” says agent Michael Bradley. Jeff Xavier, the pure shooting combo guard out of Providence College has signed a contract to play for Leche Rio Breogan in the LEB division of Spain. “Jeff had a great summer playing for his National team, Cape Verde, and generated a lot of interest in the last few weeks. We are thrilled to get him signed to a quality team in Spain as it is very difficult for rookies to secure a contract there. He is a tremendous player with a big heart, and is very driven and passionate about the game. He will have success this year and also for many years to come, no doubt in my mind,” says agent Michael Bradley. Jeff and his fiance Marisa will be heading to Lugo, Spain at the end of August for training camp. We congratulate Jeff and his family on this contract.

Former Louisville point guard Andre McGee has been signed by Phoenix Hagen of the 1st Division Germany League (BBL). Agent Michael Bradley commented about the signing. “This is a great way for Andre to start hisĀ  professional career. We couldn’t have asked for a better situation for him to jump into. The coaches of Hagen made it very clear that Andre was their first choice. He will have the opportunity to be the starting PG this season and showcase his many skills. Germany is one of the best leagues in Europe and I have no doubt Andre will do great in his rookie year. We are very proud and wish Andre and his family all the best.”

McGee was a player that Phoenix Hagen coach Ingo Freyer had been aiming to get. ‘I liked him right away as I saw him. He is a player with a lot of discipline. He is a real guard. A big reason for his signing was his strong defense. We spoke with a lot of his ex-coaches and they all confirmed his strong defense.’

McGee played on a very successful Louisville team both his junior and senior years, reaching the NCAA Tournament Elite 8 in both 2008 and 2009. His junior season he averaged: 6.5ppg, 1.6rpg, 1.9apg, 1.2spg, FGP: 40.2%, 3PT: 39.4%, FT: 71.4%. The success continued his senior year leading the Cardinals to the Big East Conference regular season championship and the Big East Conference Tournament championship. In his senior season, he averaged: 5.3ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.8apg, 1.2spg, FGP: 35.4%, 3PT: 37.3%, FT: 73.1%.
